This series just seems to get better. As a dog show addict, I would like more dog show action, but I can’t fault the mystery and suspense that limits their space.
One of the things I especially like is the way the characters feel like old friends (or old annoyances). When they have a conversation I find myself laughing out loud at the witty remarks, wanting to reach out and give a hug where it’s called for and wanting to tell the obnoxious ones to shut their mouths. The dogs are realistic and I’m getting puppy fever just from reading about them.
Readers of the series will notice minor threads from one book developing into major factors in a later one, but the weaving is so subtle that they don’t draw attention to themselves until they are needed.
Only one very minor fault – the spell-check-isms seem to multiply as the series goes on.But still a don't miss read.

A Walk on the Wild Side Murder at the Dog Show Book 9 edition by Karen Harbert Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Have read better, this is a little tough to get into-
The characters and stories simply get better. Can't wait for the next adventure!
Good. Obviously written by a dog show expert.
I liked it and kinda guess at the villain but certainly not how it ended for him. I like Karen's writing and as a former resident of Pine Valley I enjoyed her concept of it. I know she knows the area well.
I love the characters and the relationships between them. The recipes are good too! I knew who the bad guy was right away. What I couldn't guess was the end!. I also loved the "Bucky" episode. Ready for the next........
I only wish the author's books were longer, as I so wish I didn't have to leave the characters who feel like old friends. On the other hand, I can never wait to get to the end to find out how the villain "gets it." And I so much enjoy the inclusion of the meetings of the national breed club. Thank you for another good one.
I have enjoyed every one of Karen Harberts books. This one seemed a bit slow on the start. However that quickly changed and I was totally engrossed. This book kept the dog show setting but boy did it get exciting. I was back in the situation of being unable to put it down. The poor dog didn't get let out, dinner was late and so was bedtime. There was a lot of good detective work, forensic information , all totally engrossing to me. Now I wonder what she can do for an encore.I should set a time limit and ration myself on reading one of her books. Then I could really try to make it last more than two sessions.
