Del Bellator's simple life of treasure hunting and demon slaying ended the moment she learned she was a Guardian between the Underworld and Earth. The only problem? She has no idea what that means and no control over the magic that could help her. Sure, she can turn into a Phantom and walk through walls, but in a world where demons can throw fireballs or strike her down with lightning, she needs control of some bigger magical weapons.
To make matters worse, demons are now drawn to her like flies to honey. She's a walking, talking demon magnet. To save her own life, she must master her powers. That means embarking on a treasure hunt unlike any she's ever conducted. Fortunately, she has the help of Were-demon and Warden of the Underworld, Roarke Fallon, along with her FireSoul friends, Cass and Nix. As the clock ticks down, she can only hope it will be enough.
Demon Magic features kick butt heroines, a powerful hero, and otherworldly adventure.
Demon Magic Dragon Gift The Seeker Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Linsey Hall Laurel Schroeder Bonnie Doon Press Books
Okay, so I'm hooked with the Dragon's Gift series. I just finished Demon Magic and got Magic revealed on my Kindle. So Del, one of the powerful FireSouls with the dangerous ability to steal the powers of those they kill. Cass and Nix are also FireSouls and they represent part of her extended family. Del's inherent power that she has discovered is something more insidious , the ability to seemingly cheat death! Now she's shadowed by Roarke, Warden of the Underworld as more and more demons start showing up and it's vital for Del to get a handle on her long forgotten powers, including the new powers that she obtained in the first book.I'm really enjoying these books and have to admit that the burgeoning relationship between Del and Roarke works really well. Del is afraid to give up her secrets but so does Roarke. They are perfect for each other. It's obvious that they have a smouldering passion between them. Oh Roarke might try to keep his distance from Del, but you could cut the tension between them with a knife, but it's the secrets they both hide that keeps them on their toes and clearly at arms length !
Del as a lead character shines. She has a sense of fun that just works but it's her quirks that set her apart. With her dragon like soul, it's easy to understand Del's leanings, but I was surprised with her abilities. This all added greatly to the adventure as Del and Roarke took in all manner of challenges and finally come to drop all the pretenses and confess their secrets. Again, it's Linsey Hall's attention to historical detail that I enjoyed and it certainly elevates these stories and this time we travel from a Klondike gold rush steamboat to Cambridge in England and even as far as a slate mine in Wales! Expect creatures of legend, but most of all expect a rollicking good adventure that keeps you entertained until the last page.

Demon Magic Dragon Gift The Seeker Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Linsey Hall Laurel Schroeder Bonnie Doon Press Books Reviews
This is by far the best book in the series although I would have loved more character build up.
The fast pace left me with a lot of "but I want to know about it NOW!" kind of questions which is good since it means there is more to wait for and the fact that we do get bits of information keeps it interesting, at least for me.
No need to lay all the cards flat on the table and a little patience never hurt anyone )
Thank you for this book, Linsey.
Hard to be a proscribed being, having powers you can't control, then get mixed up with demons. The" sisters" spend less time in their shop, Ancient Magic, and more time helping Delphine unravel her past. Why is she the Guardian? And why does the Warden of the Underworld want her so desperately? Many adventures, fearsome fights and a phantom Dragon add up to a breathless ride.
Quick read, but the men are too perfect. It bothers me. No cliff hangers are nice, but there is an excerpt from the next book. I like the author's notes on the history she used and where she got her info. She gains a star each time for that. At least there's no gratuitous sex all the time. I'm really tired of that in a lot of the books I read.
I became hooked with the first book, Ancient Magic, and have stayed hooked! I know that once I start a new book, I won't put it down until I am finished.
The characters are well written and are believable. To me, the characters seem like real people; people you could run into in the local pub and have a conversation with. The storylines also seem plausible. I like the way each book starts and finishes a story arc but there is a theme linking everything together. And the theme isn't just for the one young woman. Even though this series is Del's, there is carry through from Cass's story (and you really do need to read them in order).
I can't wait for the next book to come out and I have a feeling this is going to be an overall series I return to again and again.
Del was practicing control of her new magic skills by a lake in northern Canada, under the watchful eyes of Roarke, a Warden of the Underworld. Her power was bringing the past back to life by weakening the barrier between past and present. She had currently pulled back a storm from 1902 and was watching to see if the steamboat would appear.
The steamboat finally appeared – but when she tried to send it back again, nothing happened! She couldn’t break the connection with her magic! Then suddenly demons started popping up on the shore behind her – and the battle began! She’s having lots of trouble controlling her new powers, and seems to be gaining a few more along the way! It was hard enough being a Phantom! Worse yet, she now seems to be a demon magnet, drawing them toward her as they try to kill her! If she can't control her powers, she may not survive this!
This is such an excellent series! The characters are well developed. The story line is fascinating. You never know what is going to happen next, but the action moves relentlessly onward! This really is one of those can’t-put-it-down books – you really can’t! Excellent writing, excellent story, you can’t do better than this! I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series as well! I was given a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. My comments reflect my honest opinion.
Another great book by Linsey Hall. The Dragon's Gift serieses (multiple) are my new favorite books. So much action, adventure, fantasy, romance... what's not to love? I love how quirky Del is, always knocking on her head and carrying good luck charms around. I find it endearing how she's been so vulnerable and questioning Roarke's feelings for her. She's such a relatable character. I also love the way the author reveals things little by little, and maintains some mystery that keeps you wanting to keep reading to learn more. The curse that is blocking her magic, for example, and this mysterious Shadow guy? Draka, the phantom dragon, and where she's gone off to? There's just so much to like about these books, starting from Ancient Magic with Cass, all the way through this newest story of Del's. I also like Roarke a lot more in this second book. So many great characters... You're seriously missing out if you haven't picked this series up yet.
